What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is one of the oldest types of treatments. It has been around since the age of Ancient China. It still has much relevance in today’s realm of medicine. Caring Hands Medical Care will utilize this time-tested method of therapy.

The classical explanation of acupuncture is that your body has regular patterns of energy that flows through your body. Theses energy channels are called meridians. It is like rushing water flowing through your body. When an obstruction blocks this movement, it creates a “dam blocking” the energy flow.

How will acupuncture help you?
Acupuncture needles unblock these “dams” and reestablish the regular energy flow. Acupuncture involves the use of tiny, sterile and single-used needles to stimulate points that make up meridians (energy channels). Needles are placed in strategic points re-establishing the body balance, releasing obstruction of energy flow and opening up the energy channels.

Am I an acupuncturist candidate?
You will be diagnosed and cared for thoroughly before a single needle makes contact with your body. In addition to guaranteed-sterile equipment and trained professional, our acupuncturist makes a diagnosis of your body before beginning any work.

What will acupuncture do for me?
Acupuncture will ease pain, decrease inflammation and improve conditions caused from an automobile accident or a workers’ compensation injury, such as neck and low back pain. It will increase the blood flow to these areas.

Does acupuncture hurt?
Most patients feel no pain as the needles are inserted (some feel minimal discomfort). Once the needle is in place, you will feel no pain. Acupuncture needles are very thin and solid and are made from stainless steel. We only use disposable needles and there is no risk of infections from this treatment.
